FUJI INSTAX MINI 50S with photos by Maya Newell
When you’re old like my grandmother, people constantly ask you to remember. They ask you to recite names, times and dates constantly. But Gran told me that ‘When I look back on my life, it doesn’t matter when things happened, it just matters that they happened. I see faces unattached to time.’ I wondered if I could photograph her memories and arrange stories with the faces that float in perhaps the only timeless place left on Earth.
Special thanks to Caitlin Gibson for her creative contribution to this piece.
