10 YEARS UNDER I-95
Zoe Strauss has said that she wants to “create an epic narrative that reflects the beauty and struggle of everyday life.”
I-95 was a ten year long project which culminated yearly in an installation of 231 photographs adhered to pillars under a highway (Interstate 95) in South Philadelphia. All of the photographs seen here were made specifically for that installation, the final of which went up on May 2nd in 2010.
A retrospective of the I-95 project Zoe Strauss: Ten Years, will be shown at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, as well as on billboards throughout Philadelphia from January to April in 2012.
